Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern use of the DSGFILES Workshop Portal at portal.dsgportal.com and related Portal-credit purchases.
1. The Portal service
The Portal provides automated workshop software services, including supported DSG mileage-file processing and supported SGO/FRF-to-BIN conversions.
Where a submitted file is supported and valid, processing is automated and the result is delivered immediately after successful validation and processing. No manual review or waiting queue is included in the ordinary automated service.
Only the gearbox families, file formats, profiles, and operations displayed in the Portal are supported. DSGFILES may add, change, suspend, or withdraw supported services where reasonably necessary.
2. Workshop use and legal responsibility
The Portal is intended solely for legitimate professional workshop, repair, diagnostic, restoration, and authorised programming work.
By using the Portal, you confirm that:
- You own, or are authorised by the owner to work on, each vehicle, control unit, and file you submit.
- You will comply with applicable laws, manufacturer requirements, insurance requirements, and workshop obligations.
- You will not use the Portal for odometer fraud, deception of purchasers, unlawful vehicle modification, bypassing legal or safety requirements, or any other unlawful purpose.
- You are responsible for checking that the selected transmission family, conversion profile, protocol, and input files are correct before starting processing.
- You will independently validate every generated file and its suitability before programming a vehicle or control unit.
You are solely responsible for work carried out using Portal outputs, including programming method, equipment, backups, vehicle condition, and final verification.
3. Important file-content warning
⚠ Correct file and profile required.Submitting the wrong source file, or selecting an incorrect transmission family, conversion profile, or protocol, can generate invalid, incomplete, or unusable output. Check the file and selection carefully before converting. Incorrect selections do not qualify for a credit refund, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
Do not use converted SGO/FRF files for a full bench flash unless you independently know that the target procedure and file are appropriate. Incorrect file selection or flashing may damage or render a control unit unusable.
4. Account registration and access
You must provide accurate, current account information and keep your password confidential. Do not share an account or allow unauthorised persons to use it.
Your Portal username and email address may both be used to sign in. Your registered email address is also used for account notices, password recovery, approval messages, and matching Portal credit purchases from DSGFILES.com.
New accounts may require email confirmation and manual administrator approval before Portal services become available. DSGFILES may decline, suspend, or disable an account where there is a reasonable security, legal, payment, misuse, or compliance concern.
5. Portal credits and billing
Portal services are paid using Portal credits. Credits are currently purchased through www.dsgfiles.com/portal-credits.html.
Use the same email address on DSGFILES.com and in the Portal so credits can be added automatically to the correct Portal account. Credits are added after the corresponding order is accepted and paid. A new Portal account may be created automatically for a paid credit purchase made with an email address not already registered in the Portal; that account remains pending until administrator approval.
A credit is deducted only when the Portal records a completed chargeable operation. The applicable credit cost is displayed before processing begins.
Mileage processing is currently offered at a promotional rate of 1 credit per operation. The future standard price is intended to be 2 credits per operation. Any price change will apply only to future operations and will be shown in the Portal before processing.
For the Mileage Tool, the first completed operation for a VIN uses one credit and includes two further completed operations for the same VIN without an additional credit charge, subject to the displayed Portal rules.
Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for money, except where required by applicable law.
6. Incorrect selections and refunds
You are responsible for choosing the correct service, transmission family, protocol, and input file. An incorrect selection, incompatible file, unsupported file, malformed input, or user error may produce invalid, incomplete, or unusable output. Credits are not refunded for these circumstances, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
If the Portal itself fails to complete a chargeable operation because of a verified technical error on our side, DSGFILES will review the transaction and may restore the affected credit or provide an appropriate remedy.
7. Availability and automated processing
The Portal is provided on an automated basis. Although DSGFILES aims for reliable availability and immediate delivery, uninterrupted access, compatibility with every vehicle/software variant, or error-free processing cannot be guaranteed.
Maintenance, security measures, upstream service failures, file-validation failures, or technical incidents may temporarily affect availability. DSGFILES may suspend processing where reasonably necessary to protect the Portal, users, files, or infrastructure.
8. Retained files and account history
For auditing, support, and customer reference, DSGFILES retains submitted originals and generated output files privately under the relevant Portal account.
Files are normally retained for six months from the completed job date, after which they may be deleted under the Portal retention policy. You should always keep your own secure copies and independent backups.
Where technically available, account history may show the job date, VIN, selected operation, credit use, software/part information, and associated original and generated files.
9. Customer data and privacy
DSGFILES processes account details, submitted files, job history, credit records, security logs, and support messages to operate, secure, support, and audit the Portal. You must not upload personal data or confidential information unless you have a lawful basis to do so. You remain responsible for the information contained in files you submit.
10. Intellectual property
The Portal, its software, workflows, branding, documentation, and generated service interfaces remain the property of DSGFILES or its licensors.
Subject to these Terms and the applicable credit charge, you may use generated output files only for lawful work on authorised vehicles and control units. You may not resell, redistribute, reverse engineer, copy, scrape, interfere with, or attempt to bypass the Portal, its security, credit controls, or access restrictions.
11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Automotive software work carries technical risk. Generated files are provided for professional use by users who understand the relevant vehicle, transmission, programming procedure, and diagnostic requirements.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DSGFILES is not liable for vehicle damage, control-unit damage, data loss, loss of use, loss of profit, business interruption, incorrect programming, incorrect customer instructions, incorrect file selection, or losses arising from misuse of the Portal or generated files.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any mandatory consumer rights.
12. Suspension and termination
DSGFILES may suspend or terminate Portal access where there is non-payment, suspected fraud, unlawful use, security risk, breach of these Terms, or a legal obligation to do so.
Termination or account deletion does not automatically remove retained financial, technical, security, or audit records where their retention is necessary for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, support, or backup purposes.
13. Changes to these Terms
DSGFILES may update these Terms when required by law, security, technical development, service changes, or business needs. Material changes will be presented through the Portal, by email, or by another reasonable method before they take effect where required.
Continued use of the Portal after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance, except where applicable law requires a different process.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Danish law. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights that apply to a customer under applicable EU law or the mandatory law of that customer’s country of establishment or residence.
Any dispute shall be subject to the courts of Denmark, unless mandatory applicable law requires otherwise.
